How the process works
-
From your first appointment, we aim to get as much detail from you as possible regarding the history of your condition, how it presents itself and how the problem occurred, as well as details of your past medical history to help build a picture of what may be causing your symptoms. A full objective examination will then be carried out to help diagnose your injury, involving a range of physical tests that will help us determine the injured structure within your body. We’ll talk to you throughout the assessment to inform you of what we are doing and will explain the diagnosis fully after the assessment has been completed.
-
Knowing the problem is an important factor in getting better. We find that our clients are more confident and optimistic about their recovery once they know their diagnosis and the reason why they have the issue. Our thorough assessments allow us to determine the likely injured structure, whether that be a joint injury, tendon, ligament, muscle, nerve or other structure in the body, and form a diagnosis and prognosis that we will educate you about.
-
Why you have a certain injury may be obvious if you’ve had a traumatic injury. However, many pains and injuries occur without an obvious cause. Our assessments allow us to diagnose the injured structure but also the reason why that injured structure has been stressed to the point of injury. Once we know the reason, your treatment plan is built around resolving this.
-
We believe that hands-on treatment is extremely beneficial in facilitating recovery from injury. Hands-on treatment alone may not resolve your issue in the long-term, but can reduce or resolve your symptoms, making you feel better so that you can rehabilitate the problem. Therefore, we use hands-on therapy (including massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation, suction cups other techniques) in combination with exercise to make you feel better and help you get you back to feeling your best.
-
We start your rehabilitation programme as early as possible after your assessment. Initially, we prescribe home exercises to help reduce stress on the injured body tissue to help alleviate your symptoms. Once pain and symptoms start to improve, your exercise programme will be adapted by your therapist to help strengthen the weaker areas of the body to help protect your body from further injury. You’ll be taught how to progress your rehab plan over time to develop your body’s robustness. We will email you a copy of your tailored rehabilitation exercises, with video examples, after each appointment so you can follow your programme and track your progress at home.

I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness. Acupuncture is a time-tested therapy that has been used for thousands of years to promote healing, alleviate pain, and enhance overall well-being.
Acupuncture is a fantastic method for pain relief and is widely recognized for its ability to relieve chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, back pain, and migraines. It can also effectively reduce pain from acute injuries such as tendonitis and surgical procedures and can hugely facilitate rehab and recovery when used in conjunction with other related treatments.
I commonly use acupuncture treatments to facilitate treatment of:
Headaches
Acute and chronic back pain
Achilles tendonitis
Tennis and golfers elbow
Arthritis
Frozen shoulder
And more.
Other benefits of acupuncture can include:
Aiding relaxation
Reducing stress and anxiety
Improving sleep quality.
How acupuncture works:
It helps to relax tight muscles and relieve muscle spasm, which can be particularly beneficial in conditions like whiplash, muscle strains, and back pain.Incorporating acupuncture into your recovery plan not only addresses physical symptoms but also supports your mental and emotional well-being, ensuring a holistic healing process.
