CrossFit classes revolve around functional movements, which are constantly varied and performed at high intensity. Classes are scalable to all levels of fitness/ability and are delivered by qualified coaches who are there to facilitate good movement patterns and to aid in improving your overall health and fitness.
Workouts are different every single day and include a combination of weightlifting (e.g. dumbbells, barbells kettlebells, medicine balls etc),gymnastics (e.g. squats, press ups, sit ups, pull ups, box jumps, rope climbs etc) and conditioning (e.g. running, rowing) rotated in a sequence known only to the coaches. This ensures that you will work on both strengths and weaknesses with the ultimate goal of becoming awesome at everything?
Classes last 60 minutes in total and include:
- Warm up/Mobility
- Skill/Strength Development
- WOD (workout of the day)
- Cool Down/Stretch
CFL Metcon is designed for non-members who would like to try CrossFit but without all the technical aspects of gymnastics and weight lifting.
This class aimed at people who are new to CrossFit and functional training. This class provides an opportunity to enjoy CrossFit without having to go through an induction (Foundations Class) first.
Completion of our Foundations class is a prerequisite to attending any of our group classes with the exception of CFL Metcon & Kettlebells.
Our Foundations classes provide the opportunity to learn how to perform the fundamental movements of CrossFit safely under the instruction of highly qualified coaches and how to scale them according to individual level of ability.
This course is 3 x 1 hour sessions and will cover the following movements:
- Air squat
- Front squat / Back squat
- Overhead squat
- Shoulder press
- Push press
- Push jerk
- Sumo deadlift high pull
- Medicine ball clean
- Kettlebell swing
- Wall ball
- Pull up
- Press up
- Toes to bar
We offer both beginners and intermediate Olympic weightlifting, both classes are delivered by our qualified Olympic weightlifting / UKSCA coach and encompass the Clean & Jerk and the Snatch. Each class will focus upon a different lift which will be broken down into derivatives to ensure that the movements are performed safely and effectively. This class is not only good to help develop strength but also will aid CrossFit performance.
It is recommended that you attend the beginners class initially until you are competent at these movements at which point you will be advised to attend the intermediate class.
Personal training will provide you with the extra motivation, support and guidance that you may need to push yourself physically and mentally in order to achieve your desired fitness / performance goals, or body image. We are fortunate enough to have several personal trainers who can focus on different training methods including:
