Strength + Power -So you want to be strong and powerful?? Well you’ve picked the right sport! Olympic Weightlifting focuses on explosive movements generating a huge amount of power, combining strength and speed with the barbell.
Mobility / Flexibility -You don’t have to sit and hold static stretches for hours to become more flexible! Weightlifting involves moving through full ranges of movement, developing mobility in the ankles, hips, spine and shoulders. Muscles naturally become more flexible following prolonged periods of resistance through full ranges of motion.
Bone Mineral Density – Spending lots of time under resistance (courtesy of the barbell), is proven to positively impact bone mineral density, making bones stronger and reducing the likelihood of osteoporosis in later life!
